Today was such a great and productive day! Josh's mom kept Ellie for me ALL DAY.
They had such a good time together, too. They went to the Franklin square and had lunch with Josh's sister and dad, they bought a new carseat and stroller for Gramps and Gigi, AND they had a photoshoot in a field full of buttercups! Of course I will post those pics just as soon as they arrive in my inbox.
I almost didnt know what to do with all of my free time today. ::almost::
I almost didnt know what to do with all of my free time today. ::almost::
I drifted around Hobby Lobby for almost and hour while shopping for my friend Caron's upcoming baby shower and while I was there I bought some fabric to make my dining room curtains.
I got Toile Yall.
Seriously? I'm not usually a toile person, its a little too....country? Or french? Or french country? But my eye kept going back to it so I brought it home to live with me : )
Here it is! I also bought some coordinating "checked" fabric.
I folded the fabric in half (longways) and then cut it at the fold, so that I had two panels.
I got out my trusty glue gun and folded the edges over, and glued to my heart's content!
Then I glued on some of the checked fabric to add a little oomph at the bottom of the panel...
But when I hung them I decided to hang the checked portion at the top, so my toile is upside down, but who cares? It works.
I clipped on some drapery hooks and hung the panels on these metal key hooks from HobLob. I think its a neat way to hang them instead of a traditional curtain rod. You cant see them here, but I actually had all five clips on the fabric, but it didnt pleat right. So I just unhooked the two in between and let them hang behind the fabric. Voila'!

Oh my goodness, you are so creative! Your drapes look so good...I can't believe you made them and I especially love what you used to hang them. Your daughter is adorable! I have an 8 mo. old little girl that is the absolute light of my life! Looking forward to reading more. Happy Easter!

I love toile, Jacks curtains are toile :) I even think if you hung them with the toile up (so the pattern faced down) and the check and the bottom it would look really cute too!
