Birthday Celebrations

I had a great birthday yesterday. It started out with Ellie and I both taking a 2 hour morning nap. If you are a mom, you know that miracles like this only happen on special occasions...so I consider it Ellie's birthday gift to me.

We had lunch at J. Alexander's with Josh's mom. They have the best veggie burger ever. Ya'll know I'm not usually a "crunchy" kind of girl, but this veggie burger tastes like a Big Mac. Swear it!

Then Ellie and I payed a birthday visit to my psychiatrist. Nothing like bringing your baby into a psychiatrist's office. Everyone looks at you like, "Oh no......I hope she doesnt hurt her baby...."
But everything went well and I didnt even cry this time :) Seems like my higher dosage of meds is working just fine.
Ellie says "Yay for Mommy's Meds!"

We made a trip to Ross's, The Dollar Tree, and Hobby Lobby to buy all of this:

I got all of these supplies to redecorate our bonus room for $45!

From left to right, clockwise:
1. 4 square mirrors to be hung together
2. White drum lampshade (Target brand, but sold at Ross's for 2.99!)
3. 2 packs of sheets from Ross's, may use these for curtains
4.Bundle of green sticks from The Dollar Store
5. 3 paintbrushes from Hobby Lobby
6. 8 pieces of scrapbook paper from Hobby Lobby
7. 3 baskets, 3 jars of baby food, 3 flower pots (to be painted white) and 2 silver frames. All from the Dollar Store

When Josh got home last night he surprised me with TONS of presents and even a homemade cake! He wanted me to let yall know that the trashy magazines were not part of my gifts, he finds these on planes and brings them home for me to read.
Ellie Kate helped me blow out my candles...

And she even got to taste some of the icing!

I got THE gift that every crafter/home decorator wants. A Cricut Machine!!!

Josh was so thoughtful and bought me a new makeup bag from Brighton. This meant a lot to me because a) he actually noticed that my other makeup bag had taken a beating and b) he remembered that my other makeup bag was zebra print. **Babe, this totally makes up for the time you got me handsoap! ( and no, I still havent forgotten about it)

We ended the night watching The Bachelorette and giving the Ellester a bubble bath. It was a great day!

Oh and p.s. Thank You to Bethany who gave me a sewing machine with all the fixin's!

So glad that you had a extra special birthday. And tell your hubby that even though the magazines weren't part of the presents, I consider it the most thoughtful gift!

You will love your cricut. I adore mine, but I've only had time to play with it once or twice. I still haven't really gotten the hang of it, but it's so fun. There's a blog, Imperfectly Beautiful ( don't know if you follow), and the girl over there (Amanda, I think) has tons of tips for beginning cricuteers. There's actually a software you can purchase that's sooo much cheaper than the cartridges where you can download all of the cute fonts/images from your computer and cut with your machine. Also, check out sign shops for free or discounted vinyl so you're not spending serious $$$ at all the craft stores. Haven't done any of this yet myself due to no time to craft anymore, but as soon as I get another vacation week, I know what I'll be doing. ;)

So glad you had a good birthday! Wow, a Cricut...my husband usually gets me a shirt or something (sometimes he even makes me pick my own gift). That picture of Ellie Kate with the icing is ADORABLE! I love it! She smiles so well for the camera. My little guy usually closes his eyes and looks annoyed.

Oh...and I love your top! Where did you get it?

I can't wait to see what you create with your cricut. I have one, and have used it 1 time only...but your ideas are so great, I might pull mine out again. So glad you're birthday was wonderful! :-)

A) what is a cricut? B) i always leave my "trashy" magazines in planes for the next person, so in a way (much like you being married to the bachelor kind of thinking) i supplied you magazines for your bday! YAY!

I'd say that those gifts and cake TOTALLY make up for the whole not getting stuff for Mother's Day!! :) I want one of those Cricut machines, and a sewing machine, but I'll just wait...I'm so glad you had a great birthday! And I'm glad things are going better with the meds and therapy!

OK, two things:

1. Our husbands need to talk.
2. Please tell me it takes at least 5 tries to get Ellie to look THAT cute in EVERY picture.

Happy birthday!
