In the Meantime…

Today I received the pics from Josh and Ellie Kate’s birthday party from my photographer FIL, but while I “tweak” them, lets take a peek at a couple of house projects I’ve been working on lately.

run-on sentence much?

First up, we needed something to take up this empty wall space in our hallway. I found two old canvas prints of casino-ish, pin up-ish, art (if thats what you call it) from Josh’s bachelor days and I decided they needed a makeover. Check it out!

Using this stencil, I traced and painted until I had completed the pattern on both canvases. I love the simplicity of the pattern.

Next, I decided our kitchen needed a little more *oomph*

I mean, what kitchen doesnt?

So I used my cricut machine and some black vinyl to make this:

Now when you come visit, you will never go hungry. You will always know where the food is!

I also added some numbers to our coffee canisters. I luuurve them. I’m thinking about adding a tiny “No.” next to each one, what do you think?

My last project was a restyle of a little flower print that no longer matched our bathroom decor. I painted the whole thing white using craft paint, and added some black vinyl wording and a cute little bird. Now this is what greets us when we come in through the garage door.

as for the canisters...why not turn them around and the opposite side have fun with it. Add things like "cookies inside...beware" or "are you sure you want those?"

That way you can be serious with the 1-2-3 and have whimsy with the other side for days you are feeling *spicy*

I think you should make another Home Sweet Home print for a giveaway.

Or, you know, just give it to me. ;)

def put "no" on the cannisters-so cute!
i feel like if I had a circuit everything in my house would have labels and words on it--dangerous.

I like the idea of something else on the other side of your canisters. That way when you feel like a change just turn them around.
