Living Room Redo and First Day of School!

*** Dont forget to enter the two giveaways here! Today is the last day!

Remember when I rearranged my living room furniture and did the unthinkable? When I put the tv on the coffee table?

DSCN1783

Well yesterday I got really crazy and moved the couch in front of the fireplace.

Oh no I just didnt!!

Yes. I did. And I luuuurve it!

DSCN2122

Do you love the diagonally placed rug? I even got really brave and hung a plate on top of four mirrors. There is nothing like a little layering to create some interesting dimension! Check out what I made for the plate with my handy dandy cricut machine.

Does that little button nose look familiar? I am so into silhouettes right now.

<<<<<<Totally different subject alert>>>>>>>

Ellie Kate had her first day of preschool today! She did great when I dropped her off. I thought she may cry but nope! She just squirmed right over to the toys and started playing. Whew!…..

I picked her up at 3:30 and her teacher gave me a full report of what she did all day. Her schedule was jam packed with fingerpainting, outside time on the swing, music circle, and flash cards!

And just to stay true to her character, she only napped for 25 minutes. The entire day. I think that may be a new record?

The poor thing was exhausted when I picked her up. As evidenced in this picture:

DSCN2125

We came home and she PASSED OUT for 2 hours. I had to wake her up at 6pm for dinner. Tonight she had deli turkey meat, goldfish, applesauce, and V8 Splash Juice.

The girl can draaaaank!

DSCN2132

She loves to eat. She is like her mamma.

DSCN2128

Sidenote: I had to run out and buy her some shoes for preschool. Why she needs to wear shoes when she cant even walk is beyond me, but she sure is cute in them…

DSCN2127

Can yall recommend some shoes for me? I bought these at Target for $12 but I know there are many options out there…

She looks so grown up since last time I remember seeing her! Too cute! Glad preschool went well today!

Converses are my favorites right now! Jcpenney or other places too.

Those shoes are TOO cute! Grammy always said not to skimp on good shoes so I have Stride Rites - but they are kind of spendy ($30)...

As a former child care worker, don't send her to preschool in squeaky shoes, otherwise you will get a bad rep- amongst the teachers. Just a little FYI. Pediped makes adorable shoes that are soft soled and perfect for feet that are crawling, cruising and beginning to walk. They are a little cheaper than Stride Rite, which makes them extra perfect until she is really running around.

I work at a baby boutique and Pedipeds are AWESOME. She looks darling and I'm happy she had a good day!

I bought two pair of Pedipeds and they were wonderful! They have a soft sole so it's easy for her to crawl in them too. I loved them! They seem super comfy too!

So glad EK did so great at school! That pic of her smiley face is so stinking cute!
Those shoes are the Target version of Robeez so they're the best but anything super soft soled is good! Target also has a shoe called Skidders-they are sock-like with rubber bottoms that are flexible.

She looks SO tired in that picture- what a big day for her! So glad she did so great. I get Brayden's shoes at Target, and they also have soft soled ones at Old Navy!

To echo Erin, the Target knockoff of robeez are great. And also to echo Cole, Stride Rite are great! DD is getting her first pair of shoes soon, and they will be stride rite. They have the best, classic yet updated, white shoes.

She is getting SO big! I can't wait to celebrate her birthday (and Josh's) :) We get Will's shoes (especially tennis shoes) at Kid to Kid. They are a re-sale shop but I got a practically new pair of Nike's for $6! They would run at least $30 at a regular store.

LOVE the new arrangement in the living room, it looks SO good! So glad that Ellie had a good day at school today...I know you probably missed her a ton! Have a good day ;)

Hey! I recently found your blog and I LOVE it!

I buy my boys shoes at Stride Rite. Some styles can be expensive, but they last forever. I have not had a pair wear out yet!

Amy said...

We have always gotten Target shoes for Jackson. Cute styles and good prices!

I could use a few tips on good shoes too! GG is walking all over the place but is also very good at taking her shoes off, silly girl! Glad the first day of preschool was so successful! Did mommy enjoy her time? Oh and we have the same sippy cups (bottles).

As the mother of a well dressed, precious THREE year old girl...I HAVE to recommend Robeez or pedipeds...but seeing your taste...pediped..soft flexible soles are recommended by all the experts for proper foot development and walking. So as she transitions will be imp! Pedipeds hold up great except for the crawling stage so when she is scrubbing them around...don't buy too many...those won't be recyclable at ALL. but otherwise selling them or holding on for #2 is very possible!

We are big fan of Robeez. When people think of them they think of just the slipper type shoes, but they make so many other types. They are great quality. They stand up to lots of wear. Glad school is going good, and good for you for doing some part time work. I am doing the same in a few months and am so nervous about it. Your designs are beautiful!

Your living room looks great! and Ellie is such a doll. They do grow up quickly! Savor the moments you have with her! xo

Glad she had a good day! Super sweet. Don't know about baby shoes yet. Haha.

BUT... what application are you using with your cricut to be able to cut out silhouettes? That plate is too cute. I didn't even know you could DO that with a cricut. I've had mine for 5 months or so and have only used it once. ::shame face:: Your living room looks great; your style reminds me so much of the Nester! And I love her!

Pediped, Stride Rite, and Target is where I get Lauren's shoes. BUT I usually buy Stride Rite's online on ebay or find them at consignment sales or Craigslist. I just can't fathom paying full price for them. I have found them at consignment sales brand new, with stickers still on them, and have found them new on ebay too :)

Both of my boys wore Stride Rite walkers when they were learning to walk. They say they are the closest things to walking barefooted. My boys liked them and did very well learning to walk in them. They even have wide width for my fat footed babies! They have since grown out of that though... I love the picture of Ellie Kate almost falling asleep while trying to eat! She is so precious! You are truly blessed.

Yes, she did need those shoes! I can see why!!
And she may need these....

What size is she? I will keep an eye out at my 800 consignment sales I insist upon going to this fall :)

so cute! for shoes, our faves have been Keens and Stride Rite. Granted i'm a boy - mom so these are more for practicality and not as much for cutesie-ness. They are easy to put on and stay on the feet, plus comfy. More important when she IS walking though!

My sister buys all of her shoes at Target, they are the cutest and so reasonable. Jillian is just starting to own a few pairs herself. I love the ones EK has, precious!! I may have to pick up a pair at Tarjay for Jillian!

I am glad to hear your girl is doing well at school! Jillian comes home absolutely exhausted and barely naps there. She is too busy checking out other kids and playing with all of her toys. I have a social butterfly on my hands!
