I’m feeling a little off my “mom game” lately. Somehow we were blessed to have Josh home for the past month and a half. Every day, and every night, for a month and a half! It was SO nice to be able to share the responsibilities of taking care of our house and our rambunctious 2 year old. And to be honest, I pretty much let him do everything. I figure this will NEVER happen again so I better take advantage of it! Ha! : )
But now that he’s back to work it has taken me a couple of days to remember how to be a part-time single mom again! I was pretty anxious before he left, because I knew I would have to adjust, but I think we have settled into a good routine. Plus, by some sort of Christmas miracle, he will be home for Christmas this year!! We have never….EVER….spent Christmas together. Woo hoo!
Apparently my body has accepted that I really am pregnant now. (For a while I was in denial) I have b.l.o.w.n. u.p. this past week. I’m constantly out of breath, I cant carry Ellie anymore, and I have to really watch my activity or my uterus goes crazy with braxton hicks contractions. Most days I have to lay down on my left side and drink a couple of bottles of water to relieve the tension in my belly, so I have given myself a free pass when it comes to how much TV Ellie is watching lately. Here’s the little diva straight out of bed this morning. She insisted on wearing her “Pwincess dwess!”
I havent been taking pictures a lot lately, mostly because my DSLR cant get enough light in. I need a 50mm lense but don’t have the $100 to spend on it. All of my photos have to be extensively edited in photoshop to even look presentable, and that takes forever, so I’m shying away from it right now.
And last but not least, I am SO pumped to celebrate Christmas this year! Ellie is finally old enough to know what is going on and I just cant wait to see her face on Christmas morning!

Oh girl, I feel your pain. Just climbing up a flight of stairs completely takes my breath away, climbing them with Jillian is horrible. I feel like it's hit all of a sudden too. I have also had to take a few "power naps" while watching Jillian on my days off and kept Barney running on repeat. You have to do what you have to do to get by and take care of yourself!
So glad to hear Josh is home for the holidays. Merry Christmas to your precious family!
Where is that rug from in the photo with Ellie? What a great thing to have your hubby home for a month and a half!
Have you heard of a puffer? You can get one of those to go over your in-camera flash. It softens the flash and only costs about $20. It's still not as great as having the 50mm but it's better than not taking pictures! Keep it up! I totally feel you on the part-time single mom. Merry Christmas!
